I can be found working on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays assisting Yvette with the Green Tree Frog group.
My ‘relationship’ with St. Stephen’s Preschool began over 30 years ago. All five of my children attended the Preschool, and I started working here in 1998 when my youngest child started school.
I still live in the local area with my husband. My children are all adults now with children of their own.
I am enjoying a new phase in my life as ‘Grandma Carms’ to my five grandchildren, four girls and a boy who keep me busy in my spare time.
I love cooking and getting together with my extended family and friends to celebrate special times in our lives.
I am a lover of all things French and my dream is to travel to France one day.
I am also a passionate supporter of the Sydney Swans AFL club and regularly attend their games each season as a member, even managing to get in an interstate game or two.
I enjoy sharing my ‘interests’ with the Preschool children.
I involve them in cooking experiences, often incorporating fruits or vegetables we are exploring at the time in our Munch and Move program, and in football season I’ll talk to anyone who will listen about the latest game.
My Educational Philosophy embraces the Early Years Learning Framework of Belonging, Being and Becoming.
Over the years of working in partnership with the children and their families, I have aimed to build positive relationships to help them feel they ‘Belong’.
In my quest to do this I have made many new friends along the way.
I enjoy ‘Being’ with the children supporting them in a safe secure environment so they are free to ‘Being’ confident to explore and positively interact with others.
And one of my greatest pleasures is experiencing what they have ‘Become’ when they leave Preschool to go on to Big School as emotionally secure individuals.
